  1. Hey,
I liked reading your blog and I’m so jealous of your determination. I am a money addict, I love spending money, going out shopping, for food, day trips, holidays… Anything and everything basically. I can’t seem to get out of the habit at all.
I’m 27, recently moved to Florida and live in a rented apartment, I’d love to buy myself a house soon trying to save up so much cash scares me. What’s your best tip on starting to save?

  2. Hi Emma, thanks for reaching out! No matter how much money you make, there is always room to save more. My first suggestion would be to go through your last bank statement to see everything you spent money on. You have to decide what is really more important to you- a house or your lifestyle? That’s not to say you have to give everything up, but look at how much eating out you do, etc. It’s all about conscious spending. You need to decide what’s most important to you, and start working toward that.

  3. Hi Alexa.
I would like to say I think your blog is off to a good start and hope you continue. πŸ™‚

Emma. One way to start breaking bad spending habits is to start by looking at your daily and weekly expenes. Tonight, prepare a budget for tomorrow. Stick to your budget and write down everything you spend. Repeat this for 7 days and then prepare a daily budget for the next week. Then do all that again in the next week. You will have identified and quanitified your spending weaknesses and have probably already started saving more money.
Alexa nailed budgeting in one short paragraph. “decide what is important to you and spend in a conscious way”.
